Woodrose Winery is located in Stonewall, Texas on the south side of Hwy 290 just west of Stonewall or 14 miles east of Fredericksburg on Woodrose Lane.  Although Woodrose is one of the smaller wineries, we are expanding very quickly.  In the past year Woodrose has doubled its volume and we aren’t stopping there.

Interesting Approach

We offer the restaurant-style environment to serve our wines.  We come to you, while you relax, chat, and browse our ever-growing wine list.  Don’t forget to stop by here while you are in town or just passing by, we’d love to serve you.

Woodrose History 

Woodrose has been around since 2001, when the first vines were planted.  In 2005 wine maker and enthusiast Mike Guilette bought the winery and 24.5 acres and is now taking the winery to new heights.  He and his family have been working very hard to get the winery on the map.  Their efforts have not gone unnoticed; in fact, each year they plan to increase production by twenty percent, eventually producing ten times their current volume. 

The Vineyard

We have almost 2 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon in its ninth leaf of production. Plus planted in March of 2008 more Cabernet Sauvignon was planted as well as Mourvedre, Sangiovese, Syrah, and Malbec. Our 11 acre vineyard will make exclusive estate wines which will be sold on location only.

Woodrose Winery is best known for its quality wines and relaxed, laid back atmosphere.  We have recently completed the construction of multi-level 3,000 sq. ft deck to provide additional seating for the tasting room.  With the change in weather, the Woodrose Winery deck is a great way to enjoy a glass of wine!  The decks were completed without removing any mature living trees and will provide a peaceful place to sit and enjoy our wines with restaurant-style tasting in a beautiful hill country setting.
